Survival Analysis
Description
We will begin this training by describing how to fit survival curves and perform log-rank tests, comparing the survival time of two or more groups of individuals. We will then demonstrate how to simultaneously assess the impact of multiple risk factors on survival time using the Cox regression model. Finally, we will describe how to check the validity of the Cox model assumptions.
Purpose
This approach is commonly used in medical research to study patient survival times. Still, it also has applications in fields like engineering (for analyzing machinery failure), finance (for predicting time until loan default), and marketing (for understanding customer churn).
